To all my blogger friends who have stuck it out through my time caring for my parents, I thank you. I will be soon starting up my blog again and hoping I can stay active. I appreciate the ones of you who stuck it out with me. Your good friends to stick with me through this.
Just wanted to wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! See you soon in the new year, working on projects to share, might not all be stamping related might be Cricut to as I have really gotten involved in my Cricut.

Cricut Craft Room & Blog Hop

Cricut is working on a room for us to create in. You will hook your Cricut up to your computer and with Cricut Craft Room you can design and create plus weld all kinds of things in this. I am really looking forward to this as I want to be able to weld my images and words together so I can make cards and scrapbook pages. Right now I have nothing to be able to do that. It is like an updated version to Design Studio that Cricut has, only you will be doing it online. I can't wait until the release of the room to go in and play and create. I believe it opens up to everyone the end of April or May. I will let you know when it opens up.

In the meantime here is a card I did for a friend for his birthday. I love how it turned out.

This didn't turn out very clear for some reason but it is great IRL. Our friend is really into deer hunting and each year he gets a deer I make him a card. He has kept every card, but this one I am real proud of the way it turned out. On the outside it says "Off To" and on the inside it says "The Woods" I shaded the words and also did a brown dashed line all around the outside edge of the words. The deer plate behind the deer head is also stitched. I shaded all images with choc. chip ink from SU. You can tell I have not uploaded anything in awhile as this should of been together but you get the idea. I used Cricut Animal Kingdom in this card.

Sorry it has been so long since posting. Still caring for my Mom and don't get a lot of time. Also been working on pages of my Dad for an album for Mom. Doing those with the Cricut, if your interested I can post some of them when finished. Just let me know.

Let's Go Sledding........

I found a fun snowman on a round sled on France's blog and fell in love. So had to give him a try. I am making some as ornaments and then am going to make some for some homemade cookbook pages I am doing for my 3 kids. I am thinking homemade Hot Chocolate Recipe and this on the page. These are so much fun to make and go pretty quickly.

I then got to thinking if we can do a snowman on a sled why can't we do kids on the sled to! So I put my cobwebs to work as my brain is just fried anymore, you know to much to do, not enough hours in a day type of thing. So I came up with this little guy and will also be doing more ornaments and page elements with the kids. I am also going to be making a little girl one and will share that one later on. So what do you think??

And beings this was not my idea and I don't have the right to give the recipe out for the snowman I will not be adding that info. Sorry but you can go to France's blog and see what she did. Even though I did change mine from hers a little bit. She used different punches than I did.

This tornado is about 20 minutes from me. It hit really hard. The video's was taken from just outside of Wadena. It was the Storm Chasers from the Discovery Channel that was video'ing this. There is a lot of video's on Facebook if you type in Wadena, MN, you can also find information on youtube.

Boy I guess I have been gone a long time. Let me catch you all up on the happenings here. My Mom moved in with us in April of last year as she had two bad strokes and my Dad could no longer care for her even though I went daily to help. So Mom has been with me for almost a year now towards the end of this month. Dad got dementia and was no longer able to live alone so I moved him over here in the beginning of October. Things got worse for Dad and his dementia, he was having horrible hallucinations. In January we had to put him in to a treatment that they could figure out what was causing the hallucinations, while there less than a week he got pneumonia and was taken to ER, which they gave him meds and sent him back. That following week we had a meeting to go and get Dad as they had figured out what was causing the hallucinations, so he could come back home with me and not have such bad things he was seeing. That day before the meeting the doctor called and said he was taken back to ER he wasn't doing good. A few hours later my Dad passed away from the pneumonia. We are all having a terrible time with this as Dad was doing so good except for the hallucinations, so it came as quiet a shock to us. Mom is having a really hard time with this as they was happily married for over 61 years. Dads passing on January 18th has been very difficult on her. Then two weeks later my uncle passed away with the same as Dad, pneumonia. So as you can see it has been a very trying time for all here. I also lost a SIL in December they found her dead in her bed in Florida. Also very shocking and she was only 50.
So along with all of this and trying to raise my family and keep house, I haven't had much time to play so my blog has went down hill. Things are starting to slow up although we have to go through Mom and Dad things and get a bunch settled yet this summer. I do plan on coming back and sharing on my blog. So if you all can hang around that long I will be back. Thanks for sticking with me and all your nice comments I have gotten during the time my blog was active. You all made me feel so good.

Isn't this just the most beautiful set? I have some bragging rights coming to. Last Friday they had a blog and new release party and I won this set. WooHoo! Love it! For some reason the chalk is showing outside the images to believe me on the real card it is not. I erased with a chalk eraser. Not sure why it is showing on the scan.

Belli Challenge 53--Hearts

These weeks Belli Challenge was fun. I chose a sketch I liked and ran with it. I dug out some old retired stamps as I have non that are current with hearts or for Valentine's. I love this image as it can be used for Anniversary, Valentine's or a Birthday. So as you can see this weeks challenge is for Valentine's or Hearts. I chose the hearts.

Anniversary Belli Challenge

I made a mini album out of my cake ingredients. I thought for a day as it was difficult to come up with ideas for what my ingredients ended up being. Well at least I thought it was difficult until I got started. Then the fun began.

My Ingredients:

Designer Paper

Chipboard

Buttons

Brads

Ribbon

I started out with a mini chipboard album I purchased at a dollar store. I hated the front of it so this is where the fun began was to change the front of my mini album. I traced around my chipboard front and back and cut out designer paper and glued to the front and back of my album. Inside the front to and inside the back cover to match. I think took a die cut flower and die cut our 3 pieces of cereal box and glued them together to make another piece of chipboard and decorated that with the designer paper that I also used the flower die cut on. Glued them to the chipboard flower and took black ink and inked around the edges to make it stand out from the same designer paper album. Put a two pop dots on the back of it and added it to the front of my album. Added a pink button to that with some hemp tied on the button which I figured would look good for a flower center.

So now that is the designer paper, the button and the chipboard down. All that is left is the brads and ribbon. See much easier than you was thinking huh?

I dug out a Celebration Clear Embellishment and added Rhinestone brads to this and put adhesive on the back and added in the bottom right hand corner.

Lastly I added black and red ribbon on the rings of the book to complete it.

I hope you all like the book. I will be finishing up the pages and will share with you throughout the rest of the week. I am excited to get it done. Thinking I will be putting my daughters graduation samples of pictures we took in this book. We took many of them but picked a few favorites. This could be her little memory book of the fun we had taking the pictures.

All you need to do is put in the measurements you want and it will create a PDF file for you. How cool is that? I know for me I am going to start using it. Then we can just print that puppy out and make our own boxes. You can go to the site here to put in your measurements for your boxes. CBC50 Neglected Stamps

I used the set A New Little Someone for this challenge it has been a while since I used it. I love this stamp set and really wish we still had it. Works for many things, not just for baby cards.

On this card I used pop dots and I had stamped my image twice and cut out the arms and ears and pop dotted them and layered them on top in the right places. Don't think by the scan you can see that though. I also stamped him on the same designer paper and cut out his pads for his feet, ears and ribbon for around his neck to match.

I stamped my images in Chocolate Chip and also the upper half of the background of this card. Lower half is designer paper which I am not sure where I got it from. I stamped hugs and kisses on it so it can be used as a Get Well Card or a Baby Card. I then cut the designer paper so it went most of the way up just a little over 1/2 way. Then I added chocolate chip ribbon and tied it on the side. I used a large scalloped circle punch I believe it was a 3" punch. Then with Whisper White I added that to the Chocolate chip scallop piece for layering my bunny on. The bunny is cut out and I used pot dots to mount him to the scalloped circle. I also used a chocolate chip marker and went around and put dots on each scallop. And that is pretty much it. It is a basic card size 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. When mailing a card like this that is popped out or thicker with ribbons ect. It is best to turn the card inside out so it don't get caught when going though the mail and ruining your card.

More Heritage Pages

Here are two more Heritage pages I did. I will share the other two I got done tomorrow. Hope these help you get ideas. Both of these pages have the same stamps on them but they look so different. Think I will add some white craft ink to the sides to make them look more older and worn. I really like how these two turned out. The white craft ink on these make them look silver at times and white at others, depending on the lighting an how it is help.

You can also do up pages like this and cut them in quarters and use them for cards. Or cut them in many pieces and and use them as accents on pages.

I am really enjoying being back to stamping I missed it. I had lost my mojo when I was doing so much for Mom and just didn't have the desire to do any stamping let alone any other craft. Now that she is feeling somewhat better I am back to stamping and think I have my mojo back.

Anyway my sisters and I are getting together every Sunday after noon to stamp so we can get a bunch of pages done. Hoping this works out for all of us.

I'm back!.....Heritage Background Pages

Bet you thought I was never coming back. I have been down with sinus headaches and taking care of my Mom. In and out of the hospital. I think this time they finally got her feeling good enough that she will do better now.

My sisters and myself are doing some heritage scrapbooks. We are just doing background pages right now and will add the rest as we get more done. Going to get information from my parents while they are still her on a lot of the pictures. I am doing more pages that look like old wallpaper like my parents used to have and aunts and uncles. I love the old fashioned look. Today I will share a page or two with you and you can see how I do my background pages for heritage pages. Tomorrow I will share more and also getting back into the Belli Challenges. So for today here are two pages, hope you enjoy and get some ideas from these. When they are finished with pictures and stuff I will share again.

Here is another 3D item I made for Karen. This one was also fun. I bought a package of these snowmen and snowflakes and then made a topper for it.
Just cut your card stock to fit the item. Stamp with White Craft Ink the snowflakes. And whatever verse you want on it.
The elf now he was fun to make. I used a 1 1/4" Circle Punch for his face and used Flesh card stock. 1/4" Circle punch for his eyes you need two of these done in black, and then take the white gel pen and give some character to his eyes. His nose is also done with the 1/4" circle punch and I took some pink chalk and chalked his nose to add dimension and also chalked his cheeks. Drew on a smile for his mouth. His ears are done with a flower punch just cut two petals for his ears one for each side of his head of course. His hat is a 1 1/2" punch cut on the diagonal and the word punch is put on the bottom of that and attached to the top of his head. 1/2" punch for his pom pom on his cap. Then use two way glue pen on his rim of his cap and his pom pom add glitter and he is done. Very easy to make and they are so cute. Give one a try for yourself, they make cute toppers.

Reindeer Card Holder

I know it has been a while since I posted. I had to put my Mom in the hospital again with dehydration and pneumonia and blood counts out of site. 2 days ago she had blood transfusions cause her hemoglobin was to low. She seems to be doing better so that is a good sign. She has had many test and most have come back good no cancer so that was a joy to hear. Waiting for results on a few more test yet.

Ok so on with the project. I have had these done for about a week now but didn't post them cause I wanted my Stocking Swap Partner to have to guess who I was. Must not of been real hard cause she guessed me right away. LOL We was to make 3-3D items and 3 cards and then add things from her wish list she had. Karen was easy as she loves embellishments so I got her a bunch of embellishments. And she collects Barbie Dolls so I got her a Barbie Doll for her collection. Her brother used to get her one every year for Christmas but sadly he had passed away, so I figured I would help out her brother this year and get her a Barbie.

Today's project is a Card Holder and it holds our A2 sized cards ( 4 1/4 x 5 1/2). And they are so easy to do. I think you could fit a good 8 to 10 cards with envelopes in this little box. Make a nice gift for anyone.

Supplies used for the box:
Pale Plum for main box

Acetate for lid

Snowfall Stamp set

Staz-on White Ink Pad

Red Liner Tape

Here is Tracy's Video Tutorial on the Box. She gives you all the measurements and shows you how to make it in this video.

Now I added instead of the ribbon and band a Punched Reindeer. For him you will need the following:

Wide Oval Punch

Large and Small Oval Punch

Small Swirl Punch

Word Punch

1/2" Circle Punch for Nose

Close to Cocoa and Craft Card Stock

Black and White Card Stock

White Gel Pen

Black Marker

Ribbon

Scrap of designer paper for the Music Book he is holding.

Antlers are done in the craft card stock, you need 4 small swirls.

Head is done with the wide oval punch done in close to cocoa. The mouth is done in black with the small oval punch. Glue on and add a black line that will go up to his nose.

Nose is a 1/2" round punch and add a little mark on his nose with the white gel pen. Attach to head. Attach Antlers to head.

Body is done with the large oval punch in close to cocoa and the small oval punch with the white for his belly. Attach to head.

Punch 2 word punches in close to cocoa for his arms and add to reindeer body, fold over for his hooves.

Make a Music Book for this I just winged it as I had no pattern. Put a pop dot under the book and attach the hooves to the book.

The bottom part is a scrap piece of Pale Plum and the work Fa La La is a sizzix die. Punch out word and glue to the scrap piece of Pale Plum. Get some good adhesive for holding glitter and add to the the saying. Attach to the bottom of the reindeer.

Tie a ribbon around his neck for a bow tie.

Glue Reindeer to box using glue dots.

Such an easy and fun project to do. I will be making more of these.

The Dirt on Stamp Cleaners

Oh my gosh you all have to check this out. Think I might start making this stuff myself and save a little green for more stamps! Linda Heller at Where the Rubber Hits the Road Blog has a video on stamp cleaners. She took the recipes that everyone has and compared them against SU Mist Cleaner and the Stazon Cleaner. I love her blog as she test all kinds of things for our stamping additions and you know if it is myth or for real. If you get time check it out, you won't be disappointed and will learn all kinds of things on her blog. She has tested many things and has video's I believe on all of the things she tested so you get the inside scoop.

Pine cone Penguins, Cardinal and Mouse

I was doing a little blog surfing tonight and run across this cute Pine cone Penguin. These are on the Martha Stewart website. I have tons of Pine cones in my yard. Not sure how nice since the snow has hit them but going to find out tomorrow and see. If not then this will make a good project for next year. These are so cute, I just had to share with you all. They also have a Christmas Pine cone Cardinal which is also adorable and a Pine cone Mouse. Any and all of these would be so cute on a Christmas Tree or scattered around some candles as a center piece. The photo's are small so I will not show them here so click on the links and check them out.

I have been so busy with Mom and back and forth to the clinic and hospital with her. She is out again and doing ok. Dehydrated and her kidney levels was way down. Then with Thanksgiving I got a little behind again.
We got snow on Thursday morning and this time it stayed. Been real cold here so have been trying to stay in as much as possible with this fibro.
I love working with punches. This little penguin turned out so cute. I put him on a mini notebook. I also used the Snowflake embossing folder with Bashful Blue and put that as my background cover and inside cover. I just used black card stock for the binding.
For punches I used the following:
Word Punch (Real Red)
1/2" circle punch (Real Red)
1 1/4" circle punch (head done in basic black)
13/8" circle punch ( hat done in whisper white)
Wide Oval Punch (basic black for body)
Large Oval Punch (whisper white for belly)
Small Oval Punch (basic black for his arms)
1/4" circle punch (eyes) Now I have two 1/4" punches one is larger than the other so did the smaller one in basic black for his eyeballs.
Beak and feet are done with the punch that has 3 flowers on it.
I also used the 2 way glue pen to glue him together.

These are so pretty and would be so easy to make. Instead of putting clip art behind the glass to do, stamp an image and put it behind the glass and follow the directions. These would make such a nice gift.

I found this cute card on two blogs one is Karen Gibson's and one is on Dawn's Blog. They are so cute. Well it hit me I needed to make some Thanksgiving cards for my parents and my 3 aunt and 1 uncle that is still with us. So far I have two made and three to go. They are so fun and easy to make. I used smaller eyes on mine. I think they will get a kick out of them.

So if you go to Dawn's blog she has a video tutorial on a snowman and you make the turkey card the say way except of course you add the waddle and the beak.

CBC#42 - Candy Cane Mouse Package Tag

Chrissy has another challenge this week. This one is using tags, I chose to make a 3D tag for mine. I will just write the name of the person on the back of the mouse and tie a ribbon to the candy cane or put a little bow between his/her ears. These are so fun and easy to make. And will make such a cute tag for your Christmas gifts.

You can find the template on Dawn's Blog here. Scroll down some and you will see a PDF file to download for the template. Then if you go over to her studio you can see a video on how to put him together. Super easy, super fast and super cute! Now mine is done in creamy caramel but you can do him/her in many different colors. Just have fun with your little mouse. These also would be really cute hanging on the Christmas Tree. Heck go wild and hang them from the curtain rods or around your lamp shades.

Don't forget if your making a tag for the challenge to go to Chrissy's blog and add to the comments for a prize giveaway. Sharpen your punches with Pop Cans

HI everyone I am back. Sorry I have been gone so long been having some major problems with my Fibromyalgia and my osteo-arthritis and was unable to do any crafting at all let alone house work and such. On some new medication now that is starting to help, so hopefully I can get back into the swing on things again.
I will have a few things I hope to share today but today I run across this blog on sharping our punches with a pop can. She has a video on it and I am so glad she did video so we can see how this works but boy did it make a difference on her punches. I need to do this to sharpen mine as I have got some newer ones that don't punch real well and hoping this will do the trick. So check it out and watch the video maybe it will help your punches too!

Happy Blog-aversary! My absolute favorite Halloween memory is when I was about 6 or 7 years old. My parents weren't together, and now as an adult, I know that there were money issues-- but you wouldn't have been able to convince me! We had a neighborhood Halloween Party-- everyone brought an apple as an entry fee -- we had a bobbing apples contest -- all costumes had to be homemade and made from scratch -- we weren't allowed to use a cousin's costume, or a sibling's. I remember going as a 'die' -- a single 6-sided die! Hey, cardboard boxes were easy to come by -- talked a neighbor out of some white paint, and cut the black dots out of construction paper! CBC38 Belli Challenge Snowmen

Today on Chrissy's blog she is having another belli challenge. This one is using clips, paper clips, clips from the hardware kit that SU sells, binder clips anything you use to clip things together.

I found some swirl clips and used one of them to hold my ribbon on the card. Ribbon don't show to well in the scan but it has a small snowman face and says Snowballs on it.

I used the following supplies:

Snowman stamp set SU

Basic Black & Whisper White card stock

Snowflake Designer paper also SU (retired)

Swirl Clip

Snowman Ribbon

Black and Pumpkin Pie Ink

1" Circle Punch

1 1/4 and 1 3/8" Square punches

This card is cut at 8x9 and folded in half to for a 4x9 card and fits in a business sized envelope. The rest of the card pretty much explains itself.

Extreme Fall Beauty In Minnesota

I love this time of year all the beautiful leaves and the crunch when you walk through them. The clean fresh air it brings. I think the fall of the year is the most beautiful time. Normally it is not quite this chilly yet, but it has been a strange year for weather. I remember when we was little and we would rake up all the pretty leaves into big piles then get on the swing set and swing as high as we could and then jump into the leaf pile. So much fun.
Our yard is full of Pine Tree's so I really don't get this beauty. But at my parents house is another story they have beautiful birch, maple and all kinds of beautiful trees.

The top photo is by some friends house. A place where we thought of building at one time in our imagination. LOL At the end of this road is a beautiful circle type drive and it is all trees like this.

Next is a picture of a Maple tree in my parents yard. Isn't this just beautiful? And the next one is also in their yard.Lastly is one not far from us it is a bush. That bright crimson is so pretty. Hope you enjoyed the little tour of our trees in Central Minnesota.

When my brother and I was little our older sisters (9 and 10 years older than us) put on a spook house for us and the neighborhood. Some of the older neighborhood kids helped. We had a blast going through our dark basement all decked out. Now our basement you could get in two ways one being from outside so Mom and Dad wasn't stuck with a hundred kids in and out of the house. The cellar was the dungeon an had all kinds of creepy things in there, they had fake cobwebs hanging down so you run into them trying to get out. And like all damp basements and cellers real spiders. They did bowls of things you had to stick your hand into and figure out what it was. They had brains, intestines, eyeballs, all kinds of gross things. Which by the way was all made using things from our cupboards in the kitchen. Think Mom and Dad might of went broke that year. They had Halloween music playing, creepy things all over and the older neighbor kids would pop out of no where and scare the snot out of ya. They was all dressed up in costumes too. Outside we did bobbing for apples and things like that. Needless to say our yard and basement was packed but we sure had fun and is something I will always remember.

So tell me about your favorite Halloween and I will put all your names into a hat and have my little spook pull out a name. Travis was born two days before Halloween so we sometimes call him our little spook, he will be 13 this year. Wow time flies!! Make sure and read the other comments to and bring back fun memories.

Hershey Kisses Treat Box

I seen a link to a blog today with this project on it and the original designer of this box is from Becky Fisher. Sorry don't have a blog addy so if anyone knows it please share her blog with me.

I thought this was a neat project, it holds 5 Hershey Kisses. Would be great for a teacher, Halloween treat or for your sweetheart, the sky is the limit on this one.

I will include the pattern here and you just pretty much follow the diagram shown. Pretty simple to do and they turn out so cute. Thinking of doing some of these for Trick or Treaters, we don't get many Tricksters here to Treat! So wouldn't take much to make a few up.

Origami Shirt Tutorial

Boy, I lost track of time this week. Where does the time go? I found this neat tutorial on making Origami Shirts and with a note inside. You can find the tutorial here. I love the step by step directions she shows as I have tried several times to go by a diagram before and it just don't turn out for me. So this is awesome! Paperwishes.com this week has a different tutorial on a bunch of different things this whole week so check it out.
Mom got her scooter today so she is in 7th heaven, I know this is going to help a lot getting around for her. She is still using her walker and us walking with our arms around her waist in case she starts to fall but when she is really weak she can get around on this now. Won't have to worry about her falling. I think they said it can go up to 10 mph. Really pretty red one, with a basket on the front.

Punch Sample Swap Anyone?

Would anyone want to do a punch swap of any of the SU Punches? I have some of the punches but not all and would like to get at least samples of each of them. We would do a swap of say 5 or 10 per person and limit it to a group of 5. You would send me 5 to 10 pieces in various colors or white. Fall Leaves Triangle Box CBC36

Finally got a chance to create and I did this project for Chrissy's Belli Challenge. This week was to use Leaves. And this project sure has that. Love how it turned out. I love the fall of the year anyway and this just adds to that for me. Today with my parents after Mom's doctor's appointment we drove around and looked at the beautiful leaves so this project was really inspired by that and by Julie over at Paper Pleasing Ideas, this is also where you can find the pattern for this box gift bag. I thought it was such a neat idea and when I found this paper I knew I was going to do Chrissy's challenge in this so Thanks goes out to Julie for the awesome template for the Triangle Box and to Chris for the Leaves Challenge.

What fun these boxes are to make and the shape is just out of the box! I love templates that are out of the norm and this is one of them. What a neat idea.

As for what I used in this project, I used SU Choc. Chip, Really Rust and Whisper White card stock. Stamped my image on the Whisper White and colored in with Gamsol and colored pencils. With a paper piercer I pierced around the scallops of the Choc. Chip and Really Rust Scalloped Circles. Cut out the image (Just for Fun Stamp Set) and put pop dots on the back of this piece and the Really Rust Piece. Mounted this to the Choc. Chip. The Just for Fun Stamp Set is retired so if you want that you need to check with your demo and maybe she can find it for you.

The box part I used two designer papers that was Non SU. Glued them back to back so I had double sided paper and it was more stable this way. The inside designer sheet is trees with fall leaves on them also but in much smaller detail. So they matched up pretty well. Got the template from Julie and went to work. Just follow her directions and you have it. For the scalloped top of my box I used a corner rounder and scalloped my edges that was as I don't have the long scalloped edge punch as of yet. It's on my wish list! Then with an 1/8 circle punch I punched in each scallop to keep the details on the scallops the same. Lastly I added SU Satin Choc. Chip Ribbon around the lower half of the box and then added my scalloped image piece to this and it was done. Very simple and I just love the shape.

I hope many of you try this with the leaves for Chrissy's challenge and the template of Julie's. You will love the outcome. Please share with Chris and Julie how yours turns out. Chrissy's challenge is a weekly thing she does each week and I have been missing all the fun. Remember when you make the Leaves Challenge to put CBC36 on it if you upload to Split Coast Stampers and let Chris know on her blog you did. You can also do the same and upload to your blog if you like.

Forgot to tell you how Mom turned out today. She has some fluid on the lungs so they gave her water pills to help rid that. She needs to do more exercises with her legs, which I am to help her do. That will help to build the strength up in her legs so she can walk better and hopefully without falling. We talked with them about the scooter to and that should be on the way. Lack of communication on that one or she would of had it by now he said. So things are looking up for Mom too. Thank you all for the well wishes for Mom.

Hi everyone I am back for a bit here. It it going to be a while before my Mom is better, they said 8 months to a year for her to get back to normal from the stroke and mini strokes she had. I take her in again tomorrow to the doctor to see what they can do for her cough. So I will be here and there so stick with me, I will try and keep this updated better this month.

I used the stamp set Child of God which was created by my friend Chris Dickinson you can purchase this stamp set on Sweet an Sassy Stamps. I just love this set it can be used for so many things for children.

Going to try and get some stamping done today.

My Version of Frankie

Everyone seems to be making this card or something with this pattern like bags, boxes, notebooks you name it they are making it. Such cute idea's out there. I will be doing more with him to just need to get the time. Frankie, is so easy to make and with limited supplies you can make him too. Halloween is not that far away so I will be doing some Halloween projects and sharing them as time permits.

I have been taking care of my Mom who had a stroke as many of you know. My time in stamping and creating has been very limited. What little time I have had I have been trying to spend with my family instead of stamping. Today I got a chance to create Frankie so wanted to share him with you.

Supplies needed:

Certainly Celery Card stock

Basic Black, Whisper White Card stock

White Gel Pen

Black Marker

Scissors

Tab Punch

1 inch, 1/2 inch circle punch

adhesive

Pop dots

Basic card is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 in Certainly Celery.

With Certainly Celery and 1 inch punch you need one circle, cut in half for eyelids.

With 1 inch punch cut out 2 white circles. Eyes

With 1/2 inch punch cut out 2 black circles. Eyes

With Certainly Celery punch out a nose piece. This will be cut in half.

Sponge around eyelids and nose.

Add pot dots to back of eyelids.

Add nose to card stock kind of centering. Add the white eyes above and then the black circles. Then add little comma's with a white gel pen. Pull tab off of pop dots on back of eyelids and attach as shown in the sample.

Cut hair as you desire, adhere to top of card.

With black marker make scars in places you like. Then add the mouth, can be any kind of mouth. Add stitching to scars and mouth and he is complete.

Option: Some have added a arrow or make a card stock screw for his neck. I omitted that.

He is so easy to make and is such a cute card. I am thinking of making him into a coaster also.

Get started on your Halloween cards and have them ready.

Oliver Owl CBC34

Chrissy over at Creating with Chrissy is having another Belli Challenge. Be Square, and this is what I came up with. I also did some punching with my SU punches for the owl. Hope you enjoy. He scanned a little crocked as my scanner was having an attitude problem and it took me 3 hours to get him scanned. So this is as good as it gets until I can figure out what is wrong with my scanner.

Oliver was so much fun to make. I will be making more of him. In the mean time here is the supplies needed and directions:

Choc. Chip card stock cut at 4 1/2 x 9 fold in half to get a 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 inch card base.

Choc. Chip card stock cut at 2 x 2, you will need 4 of these

Creamy Caramel cut at 4 1/4 x 4 1/4

Designer Paper cut at 3 3/4 x 3 3/4 layer on top of the 2 x 2 choc chip pieces. Layer these on top of the Creamy Caramel and then on to you choc chip basic card. Those are my square pieces for the challenge.

For Oliver you will need:

Scallop Circle Punch for his wings done in Choc. Chip

1/2 inch Circle Punch for his eyes done in Creamy Caramel

1 3/8 inch Circle Punch done with Creamy Caramel

Tab punch, punched out of Choc. Chip

Spring Flower Punch done with Pumpkin Pie

2 Rhinestone brads

Mono adhesive

Once all your pieces are cut out for this just follow Oliver Owl for placement. On the Scalloped Circle I cut in half and then kind of rounded out the wings for the inner part of his wings. His feet punch out one flower in the Pumpkin Pie and cut flower into 1/3rds for his feet, see card for how this was done and then cut a piece off for his beak. Adhere him all together and use pop dots to attach him to the center of the card.

Faux Seaglass

Pretty soon I will be back to stamping and creating myself again. Mom is slowly getting better from the stroke and mini strokes she had about 3 weeks ago. Today I took her for a hearing test and next week she will get a hearing aide. That should be a big improvement for her on hearing again. She has a lot of nerve damage in her ears and one ear they can not help her hear out of anymore from all the nerve damage in it. So hopefully with the hearing aide on her better ear she will be able to hear clear enough soon.

I was blog hopping and seen these Faux Seaglass bracelets and thought what an awesome idea! So I asked Patty if I could share them with you and she said yes. She does however no longer offer the kit or anything, but has some fantastic directions for making them. I just love this idea as finding faux glass in my area is next to impossible without the Internet. Well to me nothing beats homemade so check out Patty's Stamping Spot for step by step tutorial on making your own Faux Glass. And thank you Patty for letting me share this with my readers.

I love how she tells us how to use a stamp to get them textured and designed also. How cool is that? I will definitely be making some of these soon. Now where did I put that Shrink Plastic? She colored them by using our ink refills and our Crystal Effects. Talk about beautiful. Anyone would be happy to have this on their wrist.

Coffin Gift Boxes

I have been so busy with my Mom being in the hospital from a Stroke and now home. I have been doing her medications and helping get things done. Tomorrow I will go over and clean the house and my cousin is going to be putting in some hand rails along the wall for her to hang on to on the way to the bathroom. So needless to say I have not been posting as I haven't had time to stamp or create. But I did find this neat site for making Coffin Gift Boxes I wanted to share. Child of God CBC31

This is a sampling of a stamp set that Chrissy Dickinson drew up for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps to be released for the first time for purchase on September 1st. Go check them out on the 1st of September, she has two sets that will be for sale. This set is so adorable it has a boy and girl praying and a bunch of sayings. She also has another one coming out that is all Fall leaves and sayings. You can see that one on her blog today.

So the challenge this week was to add some baubles and bling. Be sure when you do Chrissy's challenge that you post on her blog for CBC31 and add that to your challenge piece either on your blog or SCS. You will be entered in a drawing for a prize from Chrissy.

Ok onto the card I made for this challenge. I used the little boy image for this one. And for my baubles and bling I used star bradlets. I also added some stitching with a white gel pen. Card stock is Bashful Blue and the designer paper is just some I picked up along the way, don't even remember where I got it from. Loved the look of it and it seemed to go with this so well. The little boy is colored in with gamsol and colored pencils. The designer paper is cut at 3 1/2 inch square and cut on the diagonal. Then off set on the sides of the card. This did not scan real well but you get the idea anyway.

Anniversary Roses

What a beautiful day today, the sun is shinning and it isn't to hot. I haven't been on to post. As many of you that comes to my blog know that my brother broke his neck. Well it didn't stop there my Mom had a stroke 9 days ago so I have been very busy with all this with my brother and now Mom. She is still in the hospital and will be until at least Monday.
A friend of mine needed a card to send to a old neighbor for their 60th Anniversary. This is the card I came up with. The Rose stamp is retired from SU. I stamped that in black colored in with colored pencils and gamsol. Then I cut out with an exacto knife. Put pop dots on the back to make it look more 3D.
I used Real Red card stock for my card. and for the panel I also used Real Red. With basic black I punches a scalloped edge on it and used a white gel pen to add dots. Layered the black under the real red panel and attached to the card. Then place your deemensional on the card to the left side. Stamp Verse in White Craft Ink.
Pretty easy and turned out so pretty. Hope you enjoyed today's project.

Purse in a Box

I got this wonderful idea from Andrea on her blog today and had to make one. It is real similar to the one I made a few days ago. Only this one holds approx. 5 regular sized cards and envelopes. Love this idea. You can find the directions for this on Andrea's Blog. I will be making some of these for gift giving. Always nice to have something handy for when you need a quick gift. The one I made here was designed and created by Diana Gibbs originally. Both are so much fun to make and very addicting when you make one you want to make more. Just click on the links highlighted and it will take you to the directions for both of these bags/boxes.

I will not add directions to this one as you can go to the blogs highlighted and get a step by step tutorial. But will give you the supplies I used here.

Supplies:

12x12 designer paper (non SU)

Pixie Pink, Whisper White Card Stock

White and Pink Gel Pens

Yellow Grosgrain Ribbon

Red liner tape

Corner Rounder Punch ( SU Retired ) just take off the guard and it works to make scallops

Tab Punch

1/4 circle punch

Belli Challenge #30

Chris is having another Belli Challenge on her blog using coasters this week. I love working with these coasters and so do my kids. So if you want some thing your kids can get into with you on your craft this is the one. So many things you can do with coasters. As you can see mine is a note holder for this project today. I stamped some dog images, colored them in with gamsol and colored pencils and cut them out and mounted using pop dots. I added a dog to both sides of the box but left the back plain.

Supplies Needed:

Designer Paper cut 4 pieces @ 2x4

3 Coasters 4x4 cut 2 of them in half so you have 2 @ 2x4

Adhesive

Crop-a-dile

Ribbon

Crystal Effects

White Card Stock

Bow Wow Stamp set, Stamp images on White card stock in Choc. Chip Ink.

Gamsol

Colored Pencils, Color images in with gamsol and colored pencils and set aside.

Pot Dots

exacto knife

cutting mat

Directions:

Add designer paper to coasters and round off corners.

With Crop-a-dile punch 2 holes on each short side of your coasters. Do this on all 4 coaster pieces.

Measure in 1 1/2" from both sides on the top of one of the pieces. And down about and inch or so. Use exacto knife and cut out. This gives you the place so you can get at your notes easier.

Cut strips of ribbon and tie coasters together to form a box shape. With the 4x4 coaster place in bottom of box shape and use crystal effects to glue it in. Let dry for about 1/2 hour.

Put pop dots on back of dogs and attach as desired on note box. That's it pretty simple huh!

School Book Stickers

Want some really cute stickers for your children's books? I found some you can print out on your computer, you use a full sticker sheet and just cut around them. These would be a big hit at school. You can also make your own just stamp on the sticker paper and do some thing similar as these stickers.

Hummingbird Designer Bag

These bags are so popular right now I had to try one for myself. And a lot of the girls on one of my yahoogroups was making them so I had to join in. Glad I did they are a lot of fun to make. Think I will be making more of these for Birthday bags and for Christmas giving.
The hummingbird is a rub-on that my friend picked me up from Michael's. Love them and they are all glittery. So pretty, I thought it would work great with the sky designer paper I got a while ago at Joanne's Fabric. The rest of the card stock is from SU.
I would like to thank everyone for the prayers for my brother Arnie, they are so much appreciated. Bonnie, you ask what state, it is MN.

Supplies needed:
Brocade Blue, Whisper White Card Stock
Rub-on
Designer Paper
Ribbon
Black and White Gel Pens
Cutter and score blade
Red Liner Double Sided Tape
Pop Dots
Round Punch, Scalloped Round Punch, 1/4 circle punch and Tab Punch
Directions:
Cut Brocade Blue Card Stock @ 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 and score all 4 sides @ 1 inch. Cut in to the score line on cut on two sides to make tabs for folding in. On opposite sides. Add adhesive to tabs and fold in to form a box. This is the bottom of your bag.
Cut designer paper @ 5 1/2 x 11 add adhesive on one short side and one long side. Make sure your paper is going the right way for your design. You put the adhesive on the part you want to be on the inside of the bag.
Peal off liner tape and starting in the middle at the side of your box. You will want the bottom edge of your designer paper to be on the bottom edge of the box. Slowly wrap around and press as you go to secure. You can secure by rubbing your fingers on the inside of the box, it will make your adhesive stick good this way. When you get to the last side of the box, meeting the starting, you will want to take the adhesive off the side piece so you can secure when the pieces come together. Once this is done take you hand inside and press down good to secure the seam.
Cut Brocade Blue @ 1 1/2 x 11 and take your corner rounder or the new scalloped punch and scallop the long edge. Only one side. See sample. Cut a piece of designer paper @ 1 x 11 and add to the piece you just did. Center as good as you can. Now you want to add your dots with your white gel pen. Then add with adhesive to the bottom of your bag. Bottom edge of card stock to bottom edge of bag. Wrap around and adhere together at the end.
Punch out two Brocade Blue Tabs for the top of your bag for closing, Fold in half punch with 1/4 punch in top of folded tabs, add white dots with gel pen. Adhere to top of bag in the center. Add ribbon, through the punched holes.
With Brocade Blue Punch out large Scalloped Circle. Add white dots with gel pen to scallops.
Punch out circle for image, rub on image, used black gel pen and add dots or dashed lines around edge of circle to add depth for the image. I used a hummingbird. Add pop dots to the back of the blue scalloped circle and adhere the white round circle to the front of that and attach to the front of the bag. Here is a different view with a brighter background of my bag.
These make such cute gift bags. You could also add a tag with to and from on the ribbon. Thanks for stopping by. Hope you enjoyed today's project.

Injured Brother

Sorry everyone I have not been updating. My brother fell off a ladder and fell 12 feet and landed on his head and shoulder. He broke his neck. He is not paralyzed but broke the 6th and 7th vertebra in his neck. He got very, very lucky. He has been in the hospital since Tuesday and I have been traveling back and forth to the hospital. He is in a town a little over an hour away. Been a very long week for all of us here. They did surgery as he had bone chips pressing against the spinal cord and a nerve pinching them off. Which of course made his arm, neck and shoulder hurt. He also hurt his chest in the fall which is quiet painful. He bruised the bones and the muscles. Since the surgery last night he is doing somewhat better, but it is going to be a long process for him to recover. He was able to get up and walk today a little bit. When he fell he hollered for help but no one heard him. So he crawled around the house up a couple of steps into a porch and they finally heard him and called my sister to come help him. Like I said he was very lucky. We would appreciate it if you all could pray for him. His name is Arnie.
Today I didn't go down to see him, so might doing some stamping tonight if time permits. If I do I will share tomorrow what I get done.

Confetti Flinger Card Directions

As requested here is the directions for this card and what a fun card it is too.

Confetti Flinger Card Directions:

Instructions received from Karen Gibson and Skye DeWeez

Papers:

8 1/2 x 3 card stock (use sturdy card stock only)

3x3 designer paper (not card stock)

Accessories:

rectangle or 1/8 circle punch

mini glue dots

red liner tape

size 2 rubber band

Instructions:

1. Create card front as desired on 1/4 sheet card.

2. The confetti box will be placed in the center of the inside of the card. Card can open either horizontally or vertically, but if it opens facing the recipient directly, you will get a better surprise effect.

3. Score 8 1/5 x 2 card stock

a. On the long sides in 1/2" from the edge.

b. The short way , at 2", 4", 6" & 8". There will be one 1/2" tab at the end. This tab will be used to close the box.

4. Cut notches at all intersections of the scored lines. The notches are about 1/8 cut in a v shape. The notches will allow the edges to fold in and lay flat. Do not cut past the 1/2" score lines, just cut up to t hem.

5. Fold in the 1/2" scores and adhere. Use red line sticky tape.

6. Punch using the rectangle punch or the circle punch at 2" & 6" score lines (1st and 3rd scores ) ONLY, only half punch not full punch.

7. Fold in to create a box. Use the 1/2"tab to adhere it closed. The tab will be on the bottom part of the box. (The sides are reinforced to stay firm because of the edges you folded inside the box.)

8.. Attach rubber band diagonally through the punched out notches.

9. Place 4 sticky dots to the bottom of the box or use more red line tape.

10. Press box flat (avoid touching the sticky dots) inside the card. The sticky dot bottom of the box will be towards the open side of the card. It will fold flat towards the center of the card, stretching out the rubber band.

11. Cut 3x3 square of paper. Fold up all the corners to create a square.

12. Attach 4 sticky dots to the bottom of the square, and attach to the top of the box. Add confetti. (You can use your notch scraps for confetti to match your card.

CBC#28 - Condiment cup decorated

Today is the day that Chris has her Challenges on her blog. You are to use anything container and decorate it. I made this little metal cup you can get at Walmart. They are used for nuts and mints, but I thought they was cute and would work good for our rub-ons. I added my favorite candy Hershey's Special Dark Chocolate Kisses in the cup. You can fit a lot of them in that little cup surprisingly.

Confetti Fling er Card

This card is done by Skye DeWeez, it is one of those cards if you want to get revenge on someone this one would do it. When you open this card it has a little compartment in it that holds confetti and it flings out at you when opened. It's a fun card. Not so fun when you have to pick all the confetti up but it is a fun card to give and watch who opens it and the expression on their faces.

Bra & Panties Pattern

Some of you had asked for pattern for some of these cards, I will share the ones I have. Here is the bra and panties one. It does print out a touch darker than what it is showing so you might want to trace it in a little darker when you print it out. Just right click on the image and save to your computer and it should print to the correct size.

Penny Spinner

This card is such a fun card. Not sure who made it so if it is you please let me know so I can give proper credit for the lovely card. This one is called a Windshield Whipper Card. You pull on each end of the card and this little piece pops up out of the center with a message. They are fun to play with pulling back and forth and watch the magic of the little message appear and disappear. As the card says ENYOY I am enjoying it! LOL

Happy August Everyone--Photo Stitching

I have a few things to share with you today. Besides this one that is going to show you how to stitch photo's together or scrap book pages I have another swap I am sharing. I was also asked by several to share templates for the shaped card swap. I will see if I can dig them up and share what I can. My pig card if you go back you will find the pattern site there. You will need to make the template for the pig smaller unless you want him a bigger size. I reduced mine I believe by 20%.
Tomorrow my oldest son Chris turns 21! My oh my where does the time go? I remember the 3 days of labor with him so vividly. My bouncing baby boy was born at 10# 14 1/2 oz. and was 23 inches long. Needless to say he was the size of a 3 month old baby when he was born. And yes they did finally take him by C-Section! Whew! What an experience that was!
Ok now onto the project. Maria over at Photo Inspirations has a nice tutorial on how to do this with step by step directions and pictures to help out. What a great tutorial.

Penny Spinner Card

From the Swap Movement Mania. This one is made by Staci Wood. Isn't this cute! I love the crab on this one and how she has a message in the middle slider area. She also used the ?Sea Shell Wheel to do the back ground on both the blue and the caramel card stock. Added the stitched ribbon which really set it off.

Fancy Bonnet

I believe this is the last of the cards I got. This one is a hat that Norma Chiaramonte, I have or had a hat pattern but not like this one at all. Love it, this one is tall and opens up so cute. She decorated it cute to with a matching band and a flower.
What a great swap this has been. The cards was all outstanding and the templates.
I put my back out so am sitting on a vibrating seat with heat and hoping that will help with the pain and relax it. I have taken two pain killers and it didn't help. Might have to take some more before bed and hopefully between this and the vibrator and heat it will solve the problem. All I did was pull the computer chair to the computer to check on email.

Flower Purse

Purse is done by Candace Kieper she was also in the Shaped Card Swap. Isn't this cute, I love the strap and the flower. I think this is really cute and plan to make one soon.
Sorry it has been a while since the last one. I have been very busy with my parents. My Mom fell on Sat. morning and she went face first, black and blued her eye, elbow, shoulder and knees and wrist all on the left side and broke her wrist. Dad is unable to get her up so he called me. Since I have been over several hours a day and taking her to appointments. Then on Tuesday evening she sat down in one of those outdoor plastic lawn chairs and it went over backwards and she hit her head on the sidewalk and has a huge goose egg on the back of her head. They are not putting a cast on her arm as her skin is so thin and she is a diabetic and it just isn't good, so right now she is in a brace. I also went over on Thursday and cleaned the house. My youngest son, me and my niece and between us we got he house all done. Now the yard needs it. So hence the reason I have been missing in action this time.

Swap Dress

This beautiful dress is done by Loydean Woods, and such a wonderful job, she added a pocket and a bow. I love how this turned out and am so happy I got this one. She has scalloped the edges of the bottom of the dress and on the sleeves. The pocket has two eyelets to hold it on.

Karen Gibson tagged me over at Krafting with Karen. Thanks Karen for tagging me. I am suppose to tell you 7 things about me so here we go. 1. I am the baby of the family. I have two older sisters and an older brother.
2. I do many crafts, I tole paint, stamp, scrap book, paper piece, quilting and crochet. But, have dabbled in many others.
3. I will be married to the love of my life for 28 years come this Oct. 4th. We have 3 wonderful Children and one angel.
4. I live within 4 blocks from my parents, 5 from one of my sisters, a mile from the other and 10 miles from my brother.
5. My best friend and I talk almost everyday on the computer. She lives in the cities so we don't get to see each other much.
6. I love watching Forensic files, CSI, Law and Order. I think in my next life that is what I will be.
7. We have a Jack Russell Terrier and he is the wildest thing I have ever seen. Love him dearly though except when he runs off and we have to go and look for him.

Swap Card Bra & Panties

This one was made by Kimberly Johnson. Now I have made this one before they are so fun to do and the men love them. LOL I made one for a friend and he loved it, it was a Birthday Card. I did a faux tattoo on the rear cheek. You can do that using your printer and over head projector sheet. I have directions for that on my blog too.

The popsicle card is done by Kadie Labadie, I have yet to make one of these also. Aren't they cute. And are so easy to make they would be a quick card for a stamp camp. The ribbon goes up to the card and holds it closed.

And then we have the cup cake card this one was made by Kathy Logan. I just love this one so sparkly with the glittery icing. And love the cherries on top. I have wanted to get the pattern for this one for awhile as I couldn't get it to print to the correct size when I found it on the net. This is such a cute card. She really did a great job on this with the crimped cup cake bottom.

Shaped Swap Card

This one is from Diane Smith, looks like she used a die cut for this card. Love it her detail and shading on this is just perfect. On the middle of the card she did a technique called faux wood. Beautiful job on this and one technique I have never tried yet. She also added brads between the flowers and on the bottom of both sides of the friend. This card also opens up. Such a neat idea. And love the added touch of the ribbon on top.

This card is done by Elizabeth Kratzer, she used a scallop to make her card. This card is so cute and small enough to fit in a 3x3 envelope to give as a gift card. Cute idea. Lots of layers on this one. She used a couple different punches and a eyelet in the center of the flower and also added a cut little ribbon to top it off. Super cute idea.
I so enjoyed this swap and was so excited to get it back. I love shaped cards anyway, they are different from the norm.

These cards are from the Shaped Card Swap I was in. I got some fantastic cards in this swap, everyone did an awesome job. I will share 2 in this one.

This is one that Dar Yarowski"s. Isn't this just the cutest windmill you have ever seen. She has so much detail into it. The blades on the windmill go around too. Such a neat card. She has the blocks on the building cut out and glued on.

This next one is by DeDe Janzen. This one is so cute, the wings open with a message inside. Love how this turned out. She has glued on little wiggly eyes that move. And the wings are attached with black brads.

Things are slowing down here so tomorrow I will share some swap cards I got last week. Remember I was in a shaped card swap? Well I got my swap back and believe it or not I won a prize with my piggy card. How cool is that! I have 10 card to share and will share a couple a day.

Sorry I have not kept up lately. Been such a busy month, with family reunions and so much more. I did however find a nice tutorial to show you on tying bows. Hope you enjoy.

Ok here is all the piggy's I made for the swap I was in. There is 12 little pigs here and you can see his tail. I didn't have any pink wire so I used red. His tail is sunburned. LOL

Hope you enjoy, my other post here. You will have to re size them, or they are way to big to fit in our envelopes. Here is the pattern.

These are so much fun to make and so easy. The lady that did the swap Lori, had a contest for the most unique pattern and I won! WooHoo! Can't wait to see my prize.

Hope everyone is have a wonderful day. It is really hot here in Central Minnesota, so we are going to the river to swim. Ok home to finish, we just got out to the river got in and it started to lightning out so we had to get out and come home. At least we was in long enough to cool off. Got home and the winds started to pick up and rain. My police scanner said a tornado touched down in a town near us but think it went down and right back up cause we was watching the rotation. It went down and right back up. Anyway things have settled down in my area now so I am back on and finishing getting this out.
