Shaped Card Swap

As promised. Here is two cards I got in the swap. First one is from Judy Oswald. This is so darn cute. The cat on the broom comes off the card and is a magnet. The card opens up and has stamped inside "A Haunting Halloween" near the spider. With stars above. How cute! Thanks for joining the swap Judy and the wonderful card.

Next is a baby card that Carolyn Sharkas made. Isn't this cute? I just love the ruffle around the bib. Lots of folding on that ruffle. But it sure made the card. She did a great job. Again, thanks for joining the swap Carolyn and the card.

If you ever get a chance to join a swap do so as you get such great ideas back. I don't think I have ever been disappointed in a swap yet.

Purse Post It Note Holder

I made this for a friend. Well I really made two of them both as Thank yous. I sure hope they like them.

Cut card stock at 3 1/2 x 11 and score at 5 1/2 and then 1/2 inch from that on both sides. This makes so it will be mountain and valley folds so that the post it paper fits inside with out it looking bulky. Stamp your card stock with snowflakes. I did the inside and outside with the same snowflakes. Punch with the word punch at the top for a handle. Put a ribbon across the middle and stamp your image on ww card stock, color in and layer on a coordinating color. Mount this to post it note cover. And your done! Now wasn't that an easy project to make? Optional: I added Crystal Effects to the scarf, skates and hot choc and heart on the cup to make them stand out more from the bear. I love the effect this give the bears.

I wasn't going to show both cause one is going to a friend who comes to my blog and don't want to spoil the surprise but she won't know who she is right? LOL

These would make cute little stocking stuffer or stamp camp project.

Water Problems

Sorry bloggers, I didn't get to get anything at all done today. We worked out in the yard getting ornaments put away and cleaning up the yard. Then we started on getting the sewer system all covered up so we don't freeze up in the wonderful Minnesota weather we get. Still have a long ways to go we ran out of leaves so might have to go and raid some yards. We will have half way to go. I sure hope the neighbors are willing to share instead of burning them.
Then I had laundry to get caught up on and boy does that pile up fast with 5 people in the house on a daily bases. So was doing that and the water stopped. Yup no running water coming from anywhere. Pure Panic sets in and you think what do I do. Well dh goes down and checks it out and can't for the life of him figure it out. We thought that the well run dry but it didn't. Called my trusty BIL who does all this kind of stuff and he come over with some jugs of water to prime it thinking that was the problem. Well he get down there in the basement and we have no pressure. You see a week ago this same thing happened and dh went down and got scalding hot water all over his wrist and got burned pretty good. So dh lowered the pressure on it and forgot about it. That is the problem we didn't' have enough water pressure building to pump out the water. So finally we have that fixed and the kids can shower. LOL, oh the fun! Now the kids are in bed, Mom is tired and Dad crashed as soon as the water was fixed. So needless to say I got no stamping fun done.
So bear with me and hopefully I will have something fun to look and and hopefully help you be creative. Really sorry I messed this up. So between cleaning house tomorrow and stamping I will have something worth wild to see.

Snowflake Gazers

This reminds me so much of the Coke commercial that used to be on tv. Any of you remember this? I again used a sketch by Maria you can find her blog on long the side of my blog here. I really liked how this one turned out. They look so cold with the pink cheeks. I love bears. I am sure you can tell that by the recent posts. You will be seeing lots of bears.

I used for the main card NQN and cut the snowflake piece 2 1/2 inches by 3 inches. Stamped the snowflakes in white craft ink. The red designer paper is from a booklet from Joanne's. Still using that stuff up. I have a huge book of all kinds of designs in that booklet. The white background was done with the snowflake cuttlebug folder. I stamped and cut out the bears and mounted them with glue dots that are raised. I cut some ribbon and attached it to the NQN snowflake piece and punched a hole for the snowflake brad, then mounted this to the red and white background. Then mounted it all on the NQN base. I hope you enjoy my card.

Not sure how many of you are getting your Christmas Cards started but this should give you some ideas on making them and designing your cards. I will be sharing sketches and cards that I am making for Christmas. I am doing several different ones this year and using several different sketches. So get inspired and get those stamps out and start your Christmas Cards, as it is never to early to start them.

I did Beate's weekend Challenge and had so much fun digging out my old Polar Express set. I really like this set. The bears are just so darn cute! And they have been collecting dust long enough. They like to come out and play as you can see.

I used Real Red and stamped some snowflakes with Craft White Ink, used the coluzzle to cut the half circles. I used the last one for the black on the large round one and one in for the red. I stamped Flannel Background on the main card with Real Red Ink and layered the Polar Express on to Black and onto the card. I think it turned out cute, what do you think?

Are you all ready for another sketch challenge?

I used the old Polar Express set. I love this set it is so cute and I think it will be a long time favorite of mine. Can't wait to see what you all come up with. This one is an easy one so hope you all try it.
I used Polar Express stamped in black and colored him in with my all time favorite chalks. The background is some designer paper I had left over from last years catty. I love those snowflakes, wish it had more than it did in the package of that one.

Follow the Leader

SC144 Sketch Challenge this week. I love it. I dug out my penguins and decided to play. This is what I came up with.
I used Penguin Pleasantries stamp set (retired SU), Many Sayings Stamp. Non SU Designer Paper. I really like this paper it works well with almost anything. I used Basic Black and Whisper White CS. And colored in with markers.

Boot Scootin' Boogie

I used Really Rust CS for the card. From the template I cut out the pull up tab and traced to cs and cut out. I also from the template cut the bottom half of the boot off and used as a mask when I stamped the upper half of the boot. When this is all done you can add stitching to the boot and pull up tab. Attach pull up tab. On the bottom for the sole of the boot I kind of winged it with putting card stock on and adhering then cutting it out. Easiest way to get that done. When done this card is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.
Wish I still had those boots from when I did disco. Oh the memories that brings back. How about you did you disco? Loved those lights!

Ahh Shoot!

I was finally able to stamp tonight so did the SCS Challenge Card of the week. Love this layout. I got some images from someone at a get together one day and fell in love with this one and a few others I will be sharing another time. But this little guy is so darn cute.
This is how I made him. I colored him in with my favorite medium chalks. I use those more than anything for coloring. You can blend so well with them. I used the cuttlebug for the backgrounds. I added eyelets to the lt. yellow and the slot punch to do the corners. Choc. Chip ribbon was also used. Everything is layered with Choc. Chip. cs.
