I Scream You Scream... We all Scream for Ice Cream
I bet you all thought I forgot about my blog and you my readers. I didn't I have been sick. Sinus headaches and just plain feeling blah!I completed my swap with the little piggies so am going to share them with you this week. But for today I have the Ice Cream Cone card. I had seen these made and thought they was really neat. I made this card for my VC partner. I hope she enjoys it. Sounds like she loves chocolate as much as I do.
I found the choc. saying stamp at Joanne's Fabric in the dollar bin. Thought it went well with this card. Otherwise everything else is SU card stock. If you click on the Ice Cream Cone you can see that I used my fiskars trimmer with the scoring blade to make the cross hatches for the cone. I did every 1/2 inch. Makes the cone look more realistic. On the choc. chip card stock I used Crystal Effects to give it the glossy Ice Cream look.
Hope you enjoy today's project.

Don't forget to get the kids involved in these projects they are easy enough for them to do too.Enjoy

Bringing in the 4th of July
Red, White and Blue! We are all getting ready to Celebrate the 4th of July. Bring it in with a bang with these Red, White and Blue Stars! I was surfing the net and found these. What a cute way to decorate for the holiday. You can find directions for this at the Martha Stewart Website. These would go great with the Pinwheels I shared not long ago. Wouldn't these stars be awesome across a deck? Then have your pinwheels on a basket on the table.Hope you enjoy and I have sparked some holiday interest.

Piggy Pattern
Sorry been busy working on swaps and forgot to post the pattern. Here is the link to the Piggy, this is such a cute pattern. Please give credit for this to Sara Sandberg. She is the one who created this pattern and was nice enough to let me use it for a swap. She has more patterns too, so check out the rest of her blog here.
I will be sharing another piggy when they are completed that I am doing for the swap. On the ones I am working on I am using pop dots to pop his head so it looks more 3D and also his snout will be pop dotted. I am doing them in a brighter color.
In the meantime check out Sara's place and enjoy her patterns.
Note: You will need to make the pattern smaller to work with our regular card envelopes 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. From what I am told you reduce it with your printer program 20%. I just had someone do it for me I cheated.

Here Piggy, Piggy......

Sorry I haven't posted much, I have been sick. They changed some of my medication and I am not doing well with the change. I wasn't doing well without the change either so had to do something. Anyway, trying to give these new meds a chance to work. Cross your fingers that they will work out and I don't have to go through this again.
I am in a Shaped Swap and I found this pattern on the net and fell in love with him. If my hands can hold out I will be making 12 of these little piggies! My aunt and uncle used to be pig farmers so this was the ideal card. One will also go to my aunt who is in assisted living.
I had to adjust the pattern to this template as it was to large to fit in a A4 envelope which is the size of our normal cards. So I will share that with you later. In the meantime I hope you enjoy my piggy.
Supplies needed:
Flannel Background Stamp
Versamark
Blush Blossom Card stock
Blush Blossom and Black Marker
White Gel Pen
Mono Adhesive
Sponge
Directions:
I cut out my pattern and traced onto card stock and cut all pieces out. With Versamark I stamped each piece with the Flannel background stamp. With the Blush Blossom Marker I made his nose holes. And I sponges around each edge of all the pieces so it showed some dimension. Used black marker for his eyes and then added a dash of white gel pen for his eyes to make them glisten. Add the snout to the face and then add face to the body. This card opens up and the head kind of goes back when open. I think it turned out kind of cute for a first try.
Hope you enjoy.

BBQ Apron
From storms to sirens going off this week, I haven't been on much. Sirens blared again tonight for about 15 minutes or so. And did a few nights ago. Sounds like some touchdowns near us according to our police scanner and the radio. But nothing real close thank goodness for that. I think we are in for a long summer with many storms and tornado's. So needless to say I have not updated in a week. Been so much going on.Next week I see the doctor again for RLS Restless Leg Syndrome and to find out what all they are going to do and test now. Sleep Apnea come back as being a mild case so don't need the CPAP machine, thank goodness. Ok enough of that on to the project.
I made this thinking of my hubby and grilling. Speaking of which if the weather permits it would be nice to do that through the week.
Supplies used in this one was:
Night of Navy Card stock
Whisper White Craft Ink
White Gel Pen
Backyard BBQ (retired SU set)
Directions:
Cut NON card stock into 1/4's out of one sheet you would get 2 aprons as you need the rest for you pockets.
Print out pattern and put on card stock. Stamp as desired. I layered my pockets with mono adhesive. I added faux stitching with my white gel pen all around except for the top of the apron and the top of the pockets.
Added ribbon to the top of it and was going to on the sides but decided it would make a cute recipe card to so didn't add the ribbon along the sides. Just flip it over and with a white gel pen write your recipe or do one up on the computer in the shape of your apron and mount to the back.
I cut out two oven mitts and tucked them inside the largest pocket.
Hope you enjoyed today's project and I will try and do better at keeping my blog up to date.
The pattern for this is from Valita's Blog, thanks for the pattern. Check hers out she made hers into a apron that holds tools for men, cute idea.
Thanks for stopping bye.
