Froggy went a courtin'.................CBC15

I got these images from a lady who stamped them for me as I do not have this cute little frog. Isn't he just so darn cute.? Not sure of the stamp company that makes him, if and when I find out I will let you all know.
This was done for a Belli Challenge from Chrissy. Check out her blog and her challenge and run with it. This week is using pencils. For this one I used watercolor pencils and my aqua painter. Really simple and cute to make. I hadn't used my watercolor pencils in forever so this was a great challenge.
Here is Chrissy's challenge. This Weeks Belli Challenge is PENCILS Your challenge this week is to make a project using any kind of PENCIL! Art Pencils with Gamsol, Watercolor Pencils, Metallic Pencils...let your imagination go wild! I bought a box of Prismacolor pencils and have let them sit. I also have a box of watercolor pencils, I rarely use!
Supplies needed:
Watercolor Pencils
Aqua Painter
Stamp set of choice
WW card stock, Black, Bashful Blue and Garden Green card stock
Black Gel Pen
Blue Grosgrain Ribbon
Thanks is a rub on I got at the dollar store
Direction:
Stamp images on WW card stock. Color in with watercolor pencils and your aqua painter. Set aside to dry for a few minutes. When dry punch them out with a 1 1/4 punch and then with Garden Green punch out 4 @ 1 1/2 inch pieces mount them to the back of the froggies!
With Black Gel Pen, add dashed lines around each green piece. Cut black card stock at 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 mount images on this piece evenly.
Bashful blue is cut at 5 1/4 by 4, I used little circles with a dot in the center of them so it kind of looked like little tadpoles floating around on the blue. I used bashful blue to stamp them. Added a blue grosgrain ribbon to the side and then rubbed on the thanks aside of that. See sample for placement of all pieces.
Last cut your WW card stock at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 fold in half for for a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card. Mount the blue with all your layers onto the white card stock. Your done and it was so easy to do.
Hope you enjoyed today's project. I will try and get another one out today.

Our New Home

I got these pages in a scrapbook swap I did several years ago and added some photo's to it and my journaling and it was completed. We moved and bought our house in July of 2004. Not much I can tell you about this except for Michelle Price is the artist on this two page layout, all I did was add the photo's and tell about it. The stamp set she used is a Retired Ronald McDonald Stamp set from SU, don't recall the name of the set anymore. Figure it was time I got the use out of some of my swap pages. Now to find a scrapbook that will fit the pages in them. This was a 6x6 scrapbook page swap. I have a ton of pictures I could add to it and pages yet.
Figured beings the first post today was about a scrapbook I would share this one too. Hope you enjoy.

Cute Little Scrapbook Idea

I was checking out my blogs I subscribe to and Laurie made this cutest little scrapbook I just had to share with you all. I have a chipboard book I bought recently and have been wondering what to do with it. After seeing this I know what I will be doing. Thanks Laurie for the idea. Think mine will end up being either our dog Rascal or maybe my dd in her softball games.
You can see the rest of Laurie's little scrapbook here . To get your temptations going to check out the rest of her book here is the cover. Laurie's blog name is Just Give me Stamps.

SC173 Blossoms Abound

With the snow we have had and the ice this is a welcome card to make. I love Lilacs anyway, they smell so pretty. This sketch is from SCS.
I found a package of Cranberry Crisp so that is what I used. Kind looks like one of the colors we have in the spring and summer. Can't always use Lovely Lavender and Lavender Lace for Lilacs. Come to think of it White ones would be really pretty on colored card stock. Hmmmm.....
Supplies needed:
Cranberry Crisp Card stock and Ink pad
WW Card stock
Brown Gel Pen
Old Olive Ink pad
Choc. Chip ribbon
Choc. Chip Card stock
Directions:
Cut WW card stock at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 fold in half for get 4 1/4 x 5 1/2, cut another WW piece at 4 3/8 x 3 and one at 3 1/2 x 2. On the two smaller pieces stamp your image with the 2 step stamp set Blossoms Abound, with Cranberry Crisp stamping off once for the first step and then direct from ink pad to card stock lining up images. Do the same with the leaf stamp only with Old Olive and stamping the vine to the leaf first direct from the stamp pad then stamping off once for the leaves.
With Brown Gel Pen do dashed lines all around the edges. Cut CC card stock at 3 3/4 x 2 1/4 mount to smallest stamped image. Then another CC piece cut at 4 5/8 x 3 1/4 and mount to the larger stamped image piece. Set aside.
With Cranberry Crisp cut a piece at 5 x 3 3/4, stamp with cranberry crisp with little dots. Choc Chip cut at 5 1/4 x 4. Mount to the cranberry crisp one to the choc. chip piece and add brown ribbon in the center. Mount to base card. With larger piece of the stamped image one use pop dots on back and mount to center of card. The smallest stamped image piece add pop dots and mount to center again. See sample for details on where to place things.
Your card is now finished and ready to send. This was a simple design and turned out so pretty.
Hope you enjoyed today's project.

SC172 Be Mine Mouse

Well we survived the snow blasting and the ice from yesterday. Didn't get as much as they said we would. Whew! So glad of that. But was so slippery today my dh got 2 miles out of town almost went in the ditch 7 times and said forget work. Called in and said he wasn't coming the roads was to bad. So he came home and later we snow blowed the drive way and in front of our house as the road plow still hasn't gone by. We are back drifted in the wind is really bad today. But we ended up with about 5 inches of snow and about 1/2 inch of ice. So today was a good day to stick around home and stamp.
This is the project I found for today. It is a sketch from SCS - SC172. I used a house mouse stamp again. This one is so cute, if you look closely he is cross-eyed. He has such personality.

Supplies needed & Directions:

Scrap pieces more or less of designer paper (patterned paper) You will need two designs. I got mine at that Dollar District in Alexandria. Love them both. Cut your pieces at 2 1/8 x 2 1/2 (2) of these and you will also need (2) cut at 2 1/8 x 3. Look at my sample for placement. So you end up needing one cut at 2 1/8 x 2 1/2 and one cut at 2 1/8 x 3 of one design of the patterned paper. And one cut the same of the other choice of designer paper.
WW card stock is cut at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded in half. Mount the cut designer pieces to the card as shown in the sample.
Choc. Chip Ribbon (SU) cut at 5 1/2 inches and place in the middle of the card, covering that seam.
Stamp image with Stazon Black on WW card stock. Use gamsol and colored pencils on mine, you can use what you are most comfy with. Color in image and trim to size. Then with a piece of Choc. Chip card stock cut 1/4 inch larger and mount to the stamped image. I used pop dots to mount my stamped layered image to the card.
Pretty simple and quick. Hope you enjoyed today's project. And those of you that was in this snow and ice storm we got, I hope you faired out and didn't get it to bad. I heard some towns further north of us got 18 inches. Certainly happy it wasn't me.
Stay tune tomorrow for a SU image card.

Look What's Happening here

It is really coming down. Yup on April 25th we are getting blasted with the white stuff. We had hail for about 3 hours then it turned into this. DD softball game canceled and my youngest had a dance and a sleep over at his school for tonight, just got a call and they finally canceled that too. Today is my Mom's Birthday too, what an awful thing to wake to. It's not safe for man nor beast out there.
My police scanner is just buzzing with roll overs and traffic accidents. I less than 10 minutes we had 8 roll overs on the scanner near us. Not to mention the next towns over.
They are saying we are to get dropped up to 8 inches of snow tonight and have more coming tomorrow and through next week off and on. Mother Nature time to wake up! It's Spring Already!!
I will try and get some stamping done while this stuff is invading us and share.

Mouse Gift Card

I just got done making this, haven't been stamping. Ever get those days that you couldn't drag yourself to your craft table to stamp or scrap? Well I have had several days like that so hence the no posting lately. Plus we have had one appointment after another and I am drawing near an end on them I hope.
Anyway, we was in Alexandria, MN for an appointment earlier this week and found the Dollar District store. I was in heaven with the stamping and scrapping supplies they had. The designer paper on this card is from the Dollar District and I just love it. Picked up a couple of sheets along with some matching ones to go with it. Found a bunch of goodies and you will be seeing them as I post too.
A lot of you have been making the Gift Card Holder Cards and I thought I would jump in on the band wagon on that too. So here is my sample and a blog to show you how to make them. I followed the directions for this on Dawn's Stamping Spot. She has really good tutorial and some pictures for you too. Instead of doing the band of card stock around mine though I used SU's Choc. Chip Satin Ribbon. Love this stuff it is so easy to work with. I messed up on the saying at the bottom though. I hate when you get a project almost done then do that. But when I stamped the saying it had ink on the edge and I didn't catch it and it left a shadow on the end of the saying. Grrrr! I hate when that happens. Here is a picture of the inside of mine also. I only scanned one side as the other looks the same.
So lets get on with the supplies needed:
Designer Paper of choice Cut at 3 7/8 x 2 6/8, You need 3 of these.
Choc. Chip cut at 4 x 3. You need 3 of these.
Pretty in Pink cut at 4 1/4 x 11.
Punch a Choc. Chip Scalloped Circle and a smaller one done in white.
Image is from House Mouse and stamped with Stazon, then colored in with Gamsol and colored pencils.
Choc. Chip Satin Ribbon is cut at 6 1/2 inches.
I cut a slit in the choc. chip scalloped piece for the ribbon to slide through. You will need to cut so it is under the image. When your ribbon is weaved through this tape ended together in the back of this piece.
White Gel pen around the edges of the choc. chip scalloped circle.
Stamp a small saying at the bottom.
Otherwise follow the directions on the video that Dawn did and you can complete this project in no time. I think on the inside I will stamp Happy Birthday in Choc. Chip Ink, but until I get to the point of giving it I will wait on that.
Hope you enjoyed the project today.

Softball Bunny CBC14

This card has several purposes. One for my dd that was asked by the coach to be on Varsity which is a dream of hers. Two Chrissy's Belli Challenge 14 and a sketch I did a few days ago. You can see that sketch card here. I love this bunny, he is so cute and fit the occasion perfectly. Chrissy's Belli Challenge (CBC14) calls for ribbon but not used for tying knots or bows but to use it in a different way. So this card fit that too. And I just had to try that sketch again for this one. You can use that sketch so many different ways. Ok so on with the supplies and directions.
Supplies needed:
Whisper White, Real Red card stock
Scalloped punches
Gamsol and colored pencils
Ribbon, I used stitched ribbon in black and red to match the card
Softball from an old SU set
Happy Hoppers Stamp from Stampabilities
Black Ink
Black and White Gel Pen
Directions:
Cut WW card stock at 5 1/2 by 8 1/2 when folded you have a card that measures 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.
Cut RR at 4 x 5 1/4.
Cut WW at 3 3/4 x 5 and stamp with black ink the softballs all around for background. Mount to RR piece, add a strip of stitched red ribbon to the center and mount this to the basic card.
Punch a larger scalloped circle in RR and with White Gel Pen make dots and swirls on the scallops. With a smaller scalloped punch, punch out a white one and stamp Sweet on it with black ink, add dots with Black Gel Pen. Mount the two together and set aside.
Stamp image with Black Stazon on WW card stock cut at 2 6/8 x 2 1/2. Color in image with desired coloring method. Cut RR card stock at 3 x 2 3/4. Mount stamped image to this.
Cut a piece of red and black ribbon approx. 1 1/2 inches long and fold in half and mount to back of stamped image as shown in sketch. Mount this to card as shown in sample. Then mount your scalloped saying to the lower corner of the image on the right hand side.
Didn't this turn out so cute?

As many of you know that has been with me for awhile now, that I do sketch challenges that I find on the net and send to a couple of groups. Well here is one of them. We did this one yesterday, well I did mine tonight but you get the idea. So my sketch this week for them was to do one from Techno Stamper sketch challenges she has such neat sketches. Although I am not sure on the Certainly Celery of my card for the background. But, it's ok, I can live with it.
This card is also a UFO project which Chrissy is having a challenge on her blog for UFO projects so this counts for that too. I have had this image stamped for awhile but never put to a project.
Supplies needed for project:
Whisper White, Certainly Celery, Basic Black and Read Red card stock
Scrap of designer paper
3 brads
Crop-a-dile
Stamp set of choice ( I used Feathered Hope) Retired SU Set

Cut a piece of black at 2 1/4 x 5 1/2 and then with the designer paper cut at 2 x 5 1/4 mount on one an other and then to the CC on the basic card.
Next your going to stamp your image on a WW card stock piece that measures 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 with black ink. Color in with your gamsol and colored pencils or method of choice.
Cut RR card stock at 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 mount stamped piece to this. Then cut a piece of black card stock at 3 x 3 3/8. Punch evenly space 3 holes for eyelets. Sorry been MIA.....

Sorry haven't been around the last few days haven't been feeling well. I finally got into the doctor today and will be having some extensive testing done to find out what all is the problem. This should of been done years ago but you know how that goes unless the doctor comes up with the idea it isn't a go. Well this time he finally woke up that something isn't right. I will be having fibromyalgia testing done and a sleep apnea test done for two of the things he has in store for me. He is also doing a bunch of testing on my 20 year old son. He has one kidney that is smaller than the other by an inch. The artery going to that kidney is not open to what it should be so the blood flow is not what it should be to that kidney which they feel is causing high blood pressure and diabetes. Hopefully we will have answers soon for the both of us.
I will try and get back to my stamping tomorrow, but have been hurting so bad and having some major headaches again so haven't been able to get anything done.
Hope you all are doing much better than we are.

Button Bear Celebrates

This card could be used for a few different things. Get Well Wishes, Birthday, Congrats for Baby. I really like how this one turned out. I used Julee's sketch from Poetic Artistry. What a neat sketch this one is. Julee is having a contest on her sketch, you might want to check it out. I have included Julee's sketch here.
I am also doing this one for the Ways to use it Challenge WT161 on SCS. I used eyelets and brads on this one and the challenge is for eyelets. The white dots on the black strip really made the card to add more dimension.
So on with the card you will need the following supplies:

Whisper White, Basic Black card stock
Scrap of designer paper
Button Bear Stamp set or your choice of stamp set
Dotted Swiss Embossing Folder
White Gel Pen
3 white eyelets and 3 balloon brads
gamsol and colored pencils
crop-a-dile

Directions:
Cut a sheet of Whisper white in half so you have a 2 pieces at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2. Fold one in half to get your main card at 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. Cut the other piece in half at 4 x 5 1/4 this will be run though with your embossing folder. Last white piece cut at 2 3/4 x 2 7/8. Stamp image on this piece and color in with gamsol and colored pencils. With crop-a-dile punch 3 holes on upper right hand side for balloon brads. Add your brads.
Cut basic black at 3 x 3 1/8 and mount image to this and set aside. Cut one piece at 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 and add to main card front. With your embossed white piece add to the black.
Cut a piece of designer paper at 3 1/2 x 3. Mount this to a black piece of card stock that measures 3 3/4 x 3 1/4. Add this to you card on top the white. Now cut another black piece at 1 1/2 x 4 1/4. Add dots with white gel pen around edges. Next take your crop-a-dile and punch 3 holes evenly spaced on the left side. Add white eyelets. Mount to the card. Then add your stamped image and your done. See sample for placement of these pieces if you don't understand my directions.

April Showers

Wish it was showers we was getting but like earlier in the week we are getting more snow starting tomorrow according to the weatherbug news. I'll take the April Showers.
This is another creation for two reasons. 1. Chrissy's Belli Challenge #12. 2. A sketch challenge from Jen del Muro from iheart2stamp.com. Please take some time and check out Chrissy's blog and Jen's blog. Both are very talented lady's. And go ahead and take the challenges they both have going.
I used some of my scraps and a image I had stamped and colored in already but didn't know what to do with yet. Well both of these challenges made this card come to life.

Supplies used:
Read Red, Whisper White, Basic black card stock
Gamsol and colored Pencils
3 Black eyelets
crop-a-dile
Dotted Swiss Embossing Folder
Black Ribbon with white lines
Black Stazon Ink Pad
Stamp set of choice

Directions:
Cut main card with Whisper White at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 fold in half to get your card at 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. Cut Real Red card stock at 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 add to main card front.
Cut Whisper White card stock at 4 x 5 1/4 and run though with embossing folder. Use punch for corners and mount to front of card on the Real Red.
Stamp image on Whisper White with Stazon Black ink. Color in with Gamsol and colored pencils (Gamsol Magic). Trim down to 2 1/2 x 3 1/8. Cut Real Red at 2 3/4 x 4 1/8. Add image to upper half. Mount this in the center of the card and your finished. Very simple but cute card.
Hope you enjoy today's project and be sure to take the challenges on both Chrissy's and Jen's blogs.

Question Answered about Gamsol

I hope I can answer this good enough for those wondering about the gamsol and colored pencils. The gamsol is a medium that blends the colored pencils.
Here is two tutorials on it. One on SCS and the other is Heartprints. I love the Heartprints one as she has a video on it and really shows you how to use it.
I hope this answers your questions about this product and how to use it.

Friends Forever

Boy I totally missed yesterday, things got busy around here and I totally forgot. Plus I never got to stamp at all yesterday. Well today the weather in Central MN has been awful. Snow, then rain, then back to snow, rain. ISHY day for-sure here, so I stuck close to home and did some stamping. Roads are really bad, we had lots of roll overs in the area, the police scanner was just buzzing all day with accidents, roll overs, ones going in the ditch. We get nice weather and clear roads for a few days and everyone forgets how to drive in this stuff.
Anyway, I designed my own sketch today, don't have it drawn up yet but this is how my sketch turned out. If I can figure out my program I will do up a sketch for you all to see and hopefully some of you will try it and share with me.

Supplies needed:
Bashful blue, Basic Black and White card stock
Black Stazon ink pad
Bashful blue ink pad
Gamsol
Colored Pencils & Q-tips
Black Gel Pen for going around the card
Stamp of choice
black ribbon

Directions:

Cut White card stock at 8 x 9" fold in half so you have a card that is 4 x 9". Cut a black piece at 4 x 9" and add to the front of the card. Cut bashful blue at 3 6/8 x 8 6/8". With bashful blue ink stamp dots or a background on the bashful blue piece and mount to the black.
Stamp image on white card stock and color in with gamsol and colored pencils. My image piece is cut at 5 1/4 x 3 7/8". Layer on a black piece of card stock cut at 5 1/2 x 4 1/8". Layer this on your dotted bashful blue piece on the card.
Next with bashful blue card stock and bashful blue ink, stamp dots like you did for the other piece. This piece is cut at 1 1/2 x 3 6/8". Mount this to black cut at 1 3/4 x 3 6/8". Tie black ribbon around this piece and add to card on the left hand side. With black gel pen and a ruler draw a line around edge of card. You can see how to add your pieces by my sample.
Hope you all had good weather and a nice day. Happy Monday!

Hummingbird Morning Glory

I know I have done this one before but the other one I did I made it so that the background was all a yellow color to make it look like sunlight. This one I just highlighted around the edges of the image. What do you all think of this one? Should I add it to a Base card, maybe a black or Lovely Lilac? Or would you just leave it on the way it is on the Whisper White?
If you haven't tried the Gamsol Magic yet you really need to try it. I love how this works and it makes the images pop! Blending is done like magic as it takes your colored pencils markings and blends them so none of the lines show. It is like it shades it for you to at the same time. As you work with this medium, you find that as your doing your circle motions it blends the colors out so it shades and blends all at the same time. I just love this stuff.
Was a beautiful day today in Central MN, so I spent sometime enjoying the weather. I walked Rascal our dog around the house a few times as our roads are so muddy. Can't wait for it to dry up some so we can start walking and enjoying these nice temps. Hopefully they continue and Mother Nature is done surprising us with snow. Was so nice to be able to open a window or two and a door and air out the house from being all closed up for the winter months.

Udderly Exhausted

Love how this card turned out and hoping my cousin that had heart surgery last week will too. He had to have several stents put in his valves to his heart. He must be doing pretty good cause he has been seen out and about since the surgery.

Supplies needed:
Whisper White, Basic Black and Pretty in Pink Card stock
Stazon Black Ink Pad
Craft White Ink Pad
3 white eyelets
White and black gel pens
Coluzzle
Crop-a-dile
Gamsol and Colored Pencils
Stamp sets used was Harlequin Background stamp (retired) and Farm Fever.

Directions:
Cut card stock at 4 1/4 x 11, fold in half to make your card. This card also opens from the top.
Cut Pretty in Pink at 3 1/8 x 3 3/4 layer on card as shown in sample
Cut Basic black at 2 3/4 x 3 1/3, stamp with White Craft Ink Pad with the Harlequin stamp. Take white gel pen and put dashed lines around the diamonds. Punch 3 evenly spaced holes for eyelets with the crop-a-dile. Add eyelets. Layer this on the Pretty in Pink.
Add black dots on the Whisper White card stock (main card) with black gel pen.
On Whisper White stamp cow image on and color in with choice of coloring. I did the gamsol and colored pencils for this one too. Cut out with an oval from the coluzzle. Next do the same with the black card stock only one size larger for the oval.
With white gel pen make squiggles and dots around the edge of the black.
Mount to card.
